Charlie Anderson

Sunday at Smithton

Leadership! There are lots of different styles. Jesus is the greatest model of leadership. Come along, bring a friend and lets all learn together. At night we return to the challenging life story of Joshua. What’s your lot? Come and and find out more.

Annual Congregational Meeting

On Wednesday instead of the prayer meeting we hope to have our ACM. These events are not normally crowd pullers….however I understand it might be worth coming along to this year. As usual we hope to have reports from all the clubs and other activities the church run. This year we hope to have it in the form of a video presentation which is to be quite light hearted and will be good fun. Charlie Anderson, our treasurer will also give the church financial report. There is a hint that he may be doing his report in a different way as well! It sounds as if the evening could be well worth coming along to….despite the fact it is the ACM!

Sunday 19 April

We look forward to to meeting for worship this coming Sunday. As David our pastor is still away on holiday we look forward to having John Nicholls, our associate pastor to lead the services both in the morning (11am) and evening (6pm). He will be preaching in the morning from Proverbs 2:7,8 – the sermon title ‘Life Journey’. In the evening he will be opening up the passage in Acts 11:23

Sunday at Smithton

This Sunday we expect to have our good friend Rev Aonghas Iain MacDonald back with us. Aonghas has preached many times over the last couple of years. On Sunday morning he will be preaching on the well known story of Martha and Mary which is found in Luke 10:38-42 – the sermon title being ‘The vital necessity.’ In the evening he will be preaching on Luke 11: 1-13.

David and Nina will be away in Italy for a well earned break. The congregation decided to gift him a holiday to Rome and Venice in appreciation of 30 years in the ministry – all at Smithton.

Easter Sunday at Smithton

Easter is one of the big events in the Christian calendar. On Easter Sunday we hope to have a full house (around 400 people) for our morning service at 11am. David will be preaching from the passage in Matthew 27:62-66 entitled ‘Angry people at Easter’. We also hope to have the Smithton band accompanying the praise.

Sunday Service

This Sunday we are having a family service in the morning, which will be conducted by our Pastor David Meredith. Children from Duncan Forbes Primary School Choir will be with us and sing a couple of songs.

It is also Palm Sunday and David’s sermon will be based around this – his sermon title is ‘When Hosanna doesn’t last long!’

In the evening, David will be continuing his series on Joshua, this week Chapter Fourteen entitled, ’85 and still going!’

After the evening service the Youth Fellowship will be joining with other groups. Dan Paterson was our original speaker but cannot manage and in his place Stuart Prentice will be talking about ‘What does the bible say – living life to the full?’
